We are now accepting applications for 2026 and 2027!

Our Residency is located at 248 Johnston st Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia. We invite an artist each month to exhibit their work and create within store hours.  The artist can choose how many days and which days you would like to work out of these.

Store hours are Wednesday-Saturday 11-5, Sunday 12-4.

Sucessful applicants will be emailed more information about the Shop Gal Artist Residency.  Please note there are fees, and some art mediums may not be suitable for the space.  

- 50% deposit within 14 days to secure residency dates

- Deposit is non refundable

- Full balance is to be paid 4 months before residency begins

- In the event that you need to cancel before the second payment, deposit can be applied to a future residency

Once full payment has been made no changes can be made to the date

As the studio is located within a retail store we are not able to accomodate practices that are too messy, however you may like to have an exhibition during the month showing existing work and develop work using a more contained medium during the month
